an ode to unrequited love

i'll list all songs that i listened to while writing this:
falling - janno gibbs
pangarap ko ang ibigin ka - regine velasquez
passenger seat - stephen speaks
how can i fall - breathe
ordinary people - john legend
questions - artstrong
against all odds - westlife feat. mariah carey
the good kind - the wreckers
what can i do - the corrs
i just can't let go - david pack

if your heart is cracked, i bet you mine is too
every time someone comes along i swear it will be the last
but look at me, i still fall from that same high ground
every time someone comes along, my heart still ends up bruised

the sound of a breaking heart is not pleasant to the ear
but we are just so hardheaded when it comes to love
thinking that risking is a manifestation of love
not thinking that some love should just sit silently

some may say that love is unfair and all
with that, i would have to disagree
little did they know that love is good when returned
but it is better if it's not..

i'm not trying to sound bitter or cold or callous
i think reciprocated love is just so not often
i learned to fight a battle where i would not lose
i realized that love is not asked, it is felt

and as reverence to unrequited love, i will say these words:
i love you and you don't have to know
i love you and we don't have to be
i love you though it's my cross to bear
i love you because it's my delight
i love you because i can't imagine myself loving anybody else

disclaimer of some sort:
this ode doesn't imply my current situation or anything.. i've always wanted to write an ode about this, tonight just happens to be the time when i'm in the mood for it.. the songs that i listened to was just fitting so i thought 'hey why not'.. took me 10 songs?!... tsktsk.. sorry i'm no pro with this..
