05 year-end post for a hopefully better 06..

five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes..
five hundred twenty-five thousand moments so dear..
five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes..
how do you measure, measure a year?

do i like 2005? yes and no.. heard this topic on the radio show so i thought why not make my own.. so here goes nothing.. hehe..

The best & worst of 2005.. mind you, i have several.. hehe..

WORST muna.. hehe..

BEST naman..

RESOLUTION??..

generally, i consider 2005 as a not-so-great year for me.. and as an end to this, i'm praying that the coming year will bring all the happiness that i, my family and my friends deserve.. and, though fate does not always go our way, that we will never forget to look up and pray.. that we remember that things happen for a reason.. that we realize the bright side.. that we remain hopeful but humble.. that 2006 be a better year for all of us..

a merry christmas post

i have no choice but to accept that today really is Christmas.. in few hours, the day is finally done.. the 25th has gone and passed just like one of those ordinary days.. and i feel like something's missing..

you know what's missing?!..

while most people were in a festive mood last night, i'm not.. i passed the time by watching Mulawin on tv.. and when midnight finally came, i found myself lying awake, listening to Ryan Cabrera.. greeted my friends (and that somehow made me feel the Christmas spirit, which is a good thing) and as expected, find it hard to sleep.. but my almost-found Christmas feeling disappeared when i woke up..

you know what's missing?!..

as early as 9am, people came in and out of our house.. so i was forced to wake from my slumber.. they all look kinda tired but excited.. like they're receiving something wonderful!.. pft!.. you wish!.. and to my surprise, i didn't give a crap about people coming over our house.. i was feeling so normal that i didn't even bother to change my clothes (coz i was wearing pajamas.. yeah i look funny..hehe).. and i'm walking around like i'm the only person in the house.. but no, i'm not trying to make visitors feel that they're unwelcome because of my sleeping attire look..

you know what's missing?!..

today i watched three movies.. Eve's Christmas, Cheaper than a Dozen, and another one which was about Santa.. unlike many others, my eyes were glued in front of the tv.. i just went out for 30 minutes for the sake of a yearly thing.. as expected, people were all over the streets.. what was really funny, when i passed by Jollibee, their famous Chikenjoy's smell was overwhelming.. hehehe.. its like a call to the kids saying, "mga bata, halika gastusin nyo sa chikenjoy ang mga pera nyo!!".. i was even tempted coz it smells really yummy but of course i went straight home..

you know what's missing?!..

i ate more than half of a so-called Christmas ham.. i wanted to know how much that weighs but the box was thrown already.. i didn't know how much ham i ingested, but i know it's a lot.. hehe.. sarap kasi eh.. was just meaning to eat just a couple of slices.. but i guess i enjoyed so there i go, i almost finished it.. although it may sound like we had a festive table, the ham was the only thing i ate for the whole day..

you know what's missing?!..

one kid came around lunch.. he looks 5 or 6 years old.. not to mention he's really cute and smells good.. anyway, he was given, i think 200 pesos, but refused to accept it coz he said "gifts lang.." in a very polite manner.. i was kinda amazed because kids would normally get anything handed to them (which is only based on what i've seen today).. but of course the money was insisted since we don't do Holiday shopping so there's really no gifts here.. and said thank you without being told to say it.. what i also found nice was when they were about to leave, he stopped to look at the aquarium and say "fish o! fish!".. it may sound common to you but that kid made me smile.. and wish that other kids could be more appreciative.. well, maybe just because some people went here to pick up something as if we're obliged to give it to them.. and leave as soon as they get it.. *sigh* enough already..

you know what's missing?!..

apparently, i've said enough about my day when all that can describe it is "by far, this is the most not-so-Christmas Christmas i've ever had"..

you know what's missing?!

snow..
though i have not seen any..

sukdulan na ang boredom ko!

sobrang wala akong magawa.. so napagdesisyonan kong buksan ang PC, mag-internet at magclick ng magclick hanggang sa narating ko ang mga sumusunod na mga tanong..

What's your worst fear? for me, every fear is the worst.. pero kung kailangan talaga.. i think i fear natural disasters.. i'm really paranoid when it comes to heavy rains, thunders, earthquakes and the likes..

What would it take to annoy you? do i really want to answer this? hehe.. siguro yung pag ginising ako sa pamamagitan ng sunod sunod na madidiin na kalbit.. nakaw! huwag po!..

I know i'll be able to.. uhmmm.. find a good job someday..

My mother makes the best.. bunsong anak?.. hahaha.. kapal!..

I honestly wish i could forget about.. the things that i don't even know why i let myself do.. i.e., make a fool out of myself.. and oh! also about stupid things i've said..

What was the most expensive item you've bought for yourself? first of all wala akong trabaho.. pero kung savings ang pag-uusapan.. uhmm.. pantalon ba?.. haha.. sobrang babaw! napaghahalatang wala akong priced possession.. kasi hindi ko naman pera pinangbili ng cellphone ko eh sa parents ko yun.. hehe..

What job would you never take? pwera sa mga illegal na trabaho, parang ayokong maging kargador.. hehehe.. pawis na pawis.. wala pang tshirt!!..hehe

When I was a child, I dreamt to be... a doctor.. sinong bata ang hindi naghangad maging doctor?

Have you been bitten by an animal? ay oo! i can clearly remember.. i was so young and we were in Batangas.. we stayed in a lodge wherein the owner had this really big dog.. when i woke up and went to the parking lot, the dog ran towards me.. being the "not-a-pet-lover" that i am, i ran.. the dog chased after me, and the next thing i knew, i was lying on the pavement, and i heard a voice that shouted the dog's name.. i was saved in the nick of time.. if the owner wasn't there, maybe i'm not as physically normal as i am today.. i got away with a wound on my thigh.. my slipper was torn though..

Sundays are...rest days.. at kung may gagawin for monday, malamang sunday ko na yun mauumpisahan.. pero kung wala naman, tengga lang..

What was the last awful movie you saw?lately, none.. pero tuwing may nagtatanong kung anong pinakawalang kwentang movie para sa akin, my answer is always fight club.. di ko alam kung pangit talaga o hindi ko lang talaga naintindihan o nakatulog ako habang pinapanuod ko yun.. at naalala ko, di ko rin nagustuhan yung confessions of a dangerous mind.. wala akong naintindihan.. hehe..

When was the last time you did something you're passionate about?kung considered yung interest ko sa pag-take ng pictures as a passion.. my answer would be last friday.. but i don't think i take good pictures.. normal lang.. not as good as those in masters of photography.. so sad..

tapos na.. hehe..

hopefully..

it looks like i'm stuck at home for the entire Holiday break.. one of the things that i want to do is to read at least two books (novel or whatever it may be).. since i really don't have books here, i'm gonna have to look around first.. be it an e-book or not, that's ok.. as long as it's one of these:

there's a handful list of books i want to read, but as usual can't remember anymore.. books are not just the only thing i want to get busy with, hopefully i'd get to watch movies too.. *sigh* too many plans.. so little resources..

kanyon craze

i just don't get it.. what is with those kanyons that i see it in every block of this city and the whole town.. yeah, i understand that New Year's coming and that maybe people are getting ready with their respective noise-producing techniques.. but geez.. these kanyons are all over.. i wonder if it's just Cavite or the whole nation's getting ready way too early.. and some people are even making a profit out of it.. i saw a waiting shed somewhere in Kawit wherein people (most of them guys with no t-shirt, yes the sweaty ones.. hehe..) were busy with their kanyons and a sign says "Kanyon for Sale".. they come in different sizes too huh.. maybe to suit the user.. coz if my eyes were not tricking me, i also saw kids using them.. i heard these things are not harmful though.. and i really don't have anything against it.. i'm just amazed how it suddenly became a trend.. as if those people were in some sort of a brigade that when the clock struck 2pm, they should go out topless, and start blasting their kanyons towards people (especially in buses) who would look like dorks upon an unexpected jolt..

melancholic friday

watching the Oprah show is considered as a morning ritual here in our house.. the tv will automatically be at star world when the clock strikes 9am.. and this morning, i yelped in excitement when i saw that my favorite Oprah episode was on.. The Worst Day in People's Lives episode.. this is not new, i think it was last year when i first watched it.. but hey, it still had the same effect on me.. my class was at 9am so i just get to watch the first part.. but we were dismissed early so i hurried home and still caught the last 15 minutes of the show.. the episode was about moms whose kids were killed purposely or by accident and consider that day as the worst day of their lives.. */ i'm getting nervous right now */ there was this story wherein four of her kids were killed by her ex-husband while she went on a morning walk for about 15 minutes.. imagine, it only took 15 minutes for her ex-husband to break into their house and commit murder.. and until that interview, she has not moved out of their house coz she can't leave her kids' memory.. and there was this other story about a mom with 5 kids (talking about a baby and 10yrs old tops ages).. mom left the kids inside the car for 2 minutes just to drop off something.. then when she came back, the car was burning, the kids too of course.. one of them i think picked up a match and accidentally lit it.. they all suffered from critical burns.. not to sound over reacting, but i was really about to cry while watching.. so i left for school so tears won't have to fall.. but what the heck, when i saw the last 15 minutes, there goes my eyes again, trying hard to hold back the tears.. the interview/forum was really moving.. one mom said, "my ex-husband wanted to get back at me and hurt me by killing our children.. and i try not to get hurt, coz that would mean he wins.." or something like that.. they said their lives became a big "what if" since their respective tragedies.. but according to them, after something drastic had happened, we shouldn't ask ourselves "what if?" but instead ask, "what's next?".. sure it hurts (i can only imagine how this people were hurting).. and it would be really hard to move on, given that everything we lived for were gone.. but we are still alive.. there's still life ahead of us.. and oh i remember someone said that when her kids were killed, she gets annoyed when people say that "it's gonna be okay, there's a reason why that happened" because she just don't get whatever reason there is that her children were killed (and that she was watching while this happens) and it was unacceptable.. but on the process, she realized that maybe the reason why her kids were taken was so that she can serve as some sort of a model or something for those who are going through the same grieving.. and so she can help them move on and go through the healing process.. well, i hope they'd get to re-air that episode.. there was also this episode that i think is really interesting.. one about medical mysteries.. there was this little girl who has a disorder that makes her insensitive to pain.. yeah, you read right, she can't feel ANY pain.. the same episode tackled about Tourette Syndrome which makes people, kids mostly, tick involuntarily.. had something to do with OCD.. and speaking of OCD.. i'm planning to post something about it, but i'm still doing some reading to make sure.. anyway, this entry is sooo long.. i was supposed to say something about the Lovenotes episode today, which was also a sad story.. since this is too long already, i'm not going to elaborate on that anymore, though it's really a nice one.. almost made me cry too.. anyway, i won't blame you if you decide not to visit my blog again.. you probably got bored as hell with this.. my apologies..

where is the auto-adhere mode when i need it?

Current Music: Taning- Imago

for the past 100 hours or so, i feel like i received a wake-up call in a gradual manner.. and i'm planning to respond to that call.. no further info though..

change topic..

since that night (i puked on my pride last friday night post related), my pride went on a long vacation.. i don't know where it chilled for a week+ but i'm pretty sure it wasn't in my system.. that's what i thought until.. i heard an airplane land and walking out on the tube is my pride.. all fresh and smiling.. (surprisingly without any cast).. as if it missed me too.. as if it already forgave me for its damage.. and in that moment, i guess, the most-useless-asset switch has been flickered..

change topic..

today is monday.. and monday is mo-day.. hahaha.. i'm starting to get used to this mohan fascination thing.. hehe.. i ♥ mohan.. yihii.. */ find out who mohan is and i'm pretty sure you'd be like, "leslie, what has gotten into you?!".. hehe..*/

let me elaborate..

i think something's lacking on my last post.. i was in a rush when i did that coz i was in the school's internet lab.. (updating my blog on a public pc? happens on very rare occasions).. okay, back to the song.. i for one am really moved by this song.. to where? i don't know.. all i know is that when i hear it, i feel renewed.. like i can surrender.. like i can let Jesus take over all of my problems.. i know i'm not the only person who's got problems.. and maybe my so-called problems were not as heavy as others'.. i have my fair share though.. and i'm aware that other souls are also hurting.. that's why i would like them to hear it too.. so they can also feel peace even for the 4 minutes duration of the song.. you know, there's also this other song which is by MercyMe called "i can only imagine".. a gospel song as well.. amazing.. has an r&b feel to it and the vocals justified the appeal of the song.. of course nice lyrics too..

i stopped typing and went reading the lyrics of the Underwood song.. i'm back and finally have an idea of its meaning.. as the title implies, "jesus take the wheel" is about letting Jesus guide us.. although we always think that we can control our lives on our own, realistically that's not how it works.. not that i'm saying we should just let Jesus "live" our lives and do nothing.. it would really make a huge difference if someone is guiding us.. especially when we don't know where to go and what to do.. (which in my case, comes often).. isn't it more lightening when we know someone's with us.. though not physically.. that someone's there to listen anytime we need to speak.. how relieving that would be?..

*/ typing the last paragraph made me appreciate the song more..

----------------------------------------
don't worry, this is still me..

justintime..

i've been enjoying this "goodnight show" since i don't know when.. not only because the djs were good.. the music they play were great too.. the type that you haven't listened to for what felt like forever.. or the type that you don't really take time to listen to then they play it then suddenly you go like "ok din pala to ah..".. but that one night, i think the night before last last last night, texters were raving about this one song.. i think 4 people requested for it (not to mention those messages that were not read on air).. i haven't heard of it yet so i'm burning with curiosity.. i would like to find out whether these people were making any sense.. so the time came (around 10:30pm that was), the time when other people were probably sleeping and in the so-called dreaming state, the time when i don't hear anything except for the radio, that time, the song was played..

Fifty miles to go and she was running low on faith and gasoline..

The intro alone made me listen to the whole song.. then the song went on.. the title of the mysterious song? "Jesus Take The Wheel" by the latest am-idol Carrie Underwood.. the words were simple but awesome.. i found myself staring and not realize that the song was over, i think i was thinking but i don't know what i was thinking about.. you know.. but i still managed to listen to every lyric and apparently appreciate the song.. just the song that i need to hear.. tsktsk.. i hope everyone could hear that song.. and i wonder if they'd like it as mush as i do.. i hope they willl.. it's a great song.. (oo na.. hehe).. hear it and you'd know what i mean (so i hope)..

Jesus, take the wheel
Take it from my hands
Cause I can't do this all on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
To save me from this road I'm on
Jesus, take the wheel
