melancholic friday
watching the Oprah show is considered as a morning ritual here in our house.. the tv will automatically be at star world when the clock strikes 9am.. and this morning, i yelped in excitement when i saw that my favorite Oprah episode was on.. The Worst Day in People's Lives episode.. this is not new, i think it was last year when i first watched it.. but hey, it still had the same effect on me.. my class was at 9am so i just get to watch the first part.. but we were dismissed early so i hurried home and still caught the last 15 minutes of the show.. the episode was about moms whose kids were killed purposely or by accident and consider that day as the worst day of their lives.. */ i'm getting nervous right now */ there was this story wherein four of her kids were killed by her ex-husband while she went on a morning walk for about 15 minutes.. imagine, it only took 15 minutes for her ex-husband to break into their house and commit murder.. and until that interview, she has not moved out of their house coz she can't leave her kids' memory.. and there was this other story about a mom with 5 kids (talking about a baby and 10yrs old tops ages).. mom left the kids inside the car for 2 minutes just to drop off something.. then when she came back, the car was burning, the kids too of course.. one of them i think picked up a match and accidentally lit it.. they all suffered from critical burns.. not to sound over reacting, but i was really about to cry while watching.. so i left for school so tears won't have to fall.. but what the heck, when i saw the last 15 minutes, there goes my eyes again, trying hard to hold back the tears.. the interview/forum was really moving.. one mom said, "my ex-husband wanted to get back at me and hurt me by killing our children.. and i try not to get hurt, coz that would mean he wins.." or something like that.. they said their lives became a big "what if" since their respective tragedies.. but according to them, after something drastic had happened, we shouldn't ask ourselves "what if?" but instead ask, "what's next?".. sure it hurts (i can only imagine how this people were hurting).. and it would be really hard to move on, given that everything we lived for were gone.. but we are still alive.. there's still life ahead of us.. and oh i remember someone said that when her kids were killed, she gets annoyed when people say that "it's gonna be okay, there's a reason why that happened" because she just don't get whatever reason there is that her children were killed (and that she was watching while this happens) and it was unacceptable.. but on the process, she realized that maybe the reason why her kids were taken was so that she can serve as some sort of a model or something for those who are going through the same grieving.. and so she can help them move on and go through the healing process.. well, i hope they'd get to re-air that episode.. there was also this episode that i think is really interesting.. one about medical mysteries.. there was this little girl who has a disorder that makes her insensitive to pain.. yeah, you read right, she can't feel ANY pain.. the same episode tackled about Tourette Syndrome which makes people, kids mostly, tick involuntarily.. had something to do with OCD.. and speaking of OCD.. i'm planning to post something about it, but i'm still doing some reading to make sure.. anyway, this entry is sooo long.. i was supposed to say something about the Lovenotes episode today, which was also a sad story.. since this is too long already, i'm not going to elaborate on that anymore, though it's really a nice one.. almost made me cry too.. anyway, i won't blame you if you decide not to visit my blog again.. you probably got bored as hell with this.. my apologies..
