friday na.. 13th pa!

it's a known fact that my favorite number is the number 23.. well, at least it used to be.. yes, that's right, not anymore.. i don't know.. it was like i stopped liking it.. or something.. one time, i was reading a forwarded survey, there was a what is your favorite number? question and i found myself responding none..

around my 3rd year in HS.. that was when i decided, "ok! 23 is my official number!" i don't know in your school, but in mine, it was like a rite of passage.. everyone has a favorite number.. so you get the feeling that maybe you should have one too..

so what is this number for? basically, nothing.. it's just so that when you fill out a slam book, you don't have to leave the favorite number page blank.. but! there are some who take this thing seriously.. like, when they write their name, it has an automatic superscript of the number beside it.. and have a shirt with the number in it.. even have a button with a huge printed number pinned in their back pack.. and when an event takes place on that day of the month, it's much more easier (much na more pa -er pa..) to remember coz hey, it's their favorite number how could they forget?.. and there's the most annoying, by far the most obvious way of finding out if the person is taking it seriously.. that' s when they push the number on almost, no omit almost, make that push the number on everything.. every single thing.. tsktsktsk.. oh okay, enough about me..

so how did i come up with this number? why 23? why not?! hehe actually, many have asked me why 23? and i've answered wala lang each time.. as far as i know, many depend their favorite number on their anniversary with their current relationship.. if not, it's their birthday.. those two are the most popular reasons.. but mine is none of those.. to be honest, i don't really know what my reason is.. the best excuse that i can come up with is that my HS barkada's name starts with the letter W which is the 23rd letter of the alphabet.. hehe sorry but that was just coincidence.. it's 23 before i even figured it out..hehe i was told in HS, "uy 23 rin ang number ni *****.. siguro pareho kayo ng dahilan.." i just smiled.. and then i thought, "teka teka anong pareho? anong dahilan?" but as usual, i let it pass.. since then, each time somebody asks me why 23 is my favorite number, i remember that conversation..

it's not that bad though.. to think, i managed to carry it with me through college.. through a few months ago actually.. and it still puzzles me how i got over that number just like that.. used to be, i was really affected by it.. and then..uhmm i guess time wears some things off.. maybe there will really come a time that your once favorite number will not be so favored any more..
