duel with the downpour

i'm not really a huge fan of rainy days.. i don't really enjoy them especially at night because i can't help thinking of unlikely things that could happen.. although i admit it's nice to cuddle tight when it's cold or windy..

i went out this afternoon to go to a computer shop and do some errands.. and being the unfortunate person that i am, i got caught up in the downpour.. to reach home, i only have two options.. first is to take a tricycle and the second is to take the challenge of walking/running two long blocks in the face of the angry rain.. either way, i'm going to get soaked big time.. so i took the first one.. the tricycle was parked a little far from the curb that i'm standing at.. so even before i got my dry body inside my "ride", my back was kind of wet already.. then later, of course, i finally reached my destination.. but not so fast.. i still have one last battle to fight.. i let some of my dampness off first then i looked ahead.. i can see the narrow alleyway where the rain from the roof were gushing at.. and i'm gonna have to walk, no make that run, through it.. so i took one deep breath then jogged (i realized that i can't really run).. good thing no one saw me (none that i know of).. the rain i encountered seem really angry.. i swear i heard a voice saying, "sige Leslie kaya mo yan!! go!!!" i didn't know if it was my imagination, or i said it unconsciously.. my vote goes to the latter though..

finally, i actually reached home in one piece..
so, what's the lesson of my anecdote?
next time you go out on a rainy day, bring a freakin' umbrella..
(that's one lesson that always slip my mind.. hehe)
but since i enjoyed that duel with the downpour, i guess rainy days weren't so bad after all..
